Conversations with Buffalo Grass (Amongst Others)

Throughout the town of Dayton, WY, and its nearby surroundings, a walking tour will lead you to works of art embedded within the local landscape. Conversations with Buffalo Grass (Amongst Others) is about slowing down one’s pace, listening to the land and noticing its impact upon your body. The idea for this grouping of work came from the desire to hold a conversation with this place, much in the same way one would hold a conversation when meeting someone new. I am an artist-in-residence at Tongue River during a time when meeting people is made difficult by the health hazards of Covid, and so instead I turned to the place that holds this community close.
